Research activities

We have a well-established reputation for undertaking ecological, social, historical, environmental and tourism-related research. Our highly qualified and experienced research staff come from a range of disciplines, enabling us to undertake both subject specific and integrative research. We have undertaken research for a variety of organisations, from local groups researching a specific site, to government organisations undertaking national surveys. Our clients come from a broad spectrum of central and local government, government agencies and environmental bodies, professional institutions and trade associations, the voluntary sector, and private sector companies. Our specialist research areas are:

  • social science surveys – both quantitative and qualitative
  • ecological and archaeological surveys and monitoring
  • economic appraisals and assessments
  • tourism development and impact assessment
  • conservation and agroenvironmental surveys and monitoring
  • environmental impact and risk assessment research

In addition we are able to undertake the dissemination of the results of research to specialists and the general public, including running meetings, workshops, etc., via our community liaison and consultation unit, and publication of material, as leaflets, boards or other media via our sister organisation – Wildtrack Publishing Ltd.
